Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 10, 2026

This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and what your rights are, when you use the Measure Tools – AR Room Planner app or visit measuretools.net (together, the “Service”).

Part 1 — The Website (measuretools.net)

Analytics (only with your consent)

We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors use the website. Analytics cookies are set only after you click “Accept” in our cookie banner. If you decline, no analytics cookies are placed; Google may still receive short-lived, cookieless technical pings that cannot identify you, which Google uses to estimate aggregate visit numbers.

You can change your choice at any time via the Cookie Settings link in the website footer. Data sent to Google may be processed on servers in the United States; Google is certified under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework. More in Google's privacy policy.

Cookies used after consent: _ga and _ga_* (visitor and session identifiers, expire after up to 2 years). Your consent choice itself is stored in your browser's local storage (mtConsent) and never leaves your device.

Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), which you may withdraw at any time.

Contact form

When you send us a message through the contact form, we receive the name, email address and message text you enter. We use them solely to read and reply to your message, and we keep the correspondence only as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up. We do not add you to any mailing list.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in responding to your inquiry (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).

Server logs

Our hosting provider automatically records technical access logs (IP address, requested page, date and time, browser type) for security and troubleshooting. Logs are kept for a short, limited period and are not combined with any other data.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating the website securely (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).

Part 2 — The App (Measure Tools)

Camera and measurements

The app uses your device camera and motion sensors to perform augmented-reality measurements. The camera image is processed on your device for AR tracking; we do not receive, store or transmit your camera feed. Your measurements, floor plans and measurement photos are stored on your device. If you choose to share a measurement photo, it is shared through the app or service you select — we do not receive a copy.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play. We never receive your payment card details; the stores provide us only anonymized transaction confirmations needed to unlock your purchase.

Third-party services in the app

The app uses third-party services that may collect device information (such as an advertising identifier, IP address, device model, and crash or usage data):

• Google AdMob — ads shown in the free tier
• Google Firebase — app analytics and crash reporting
• Unity — 3D rendering technology

Where required, the app asks for your consent (for example, App Tracking Transparency on iOS) before ad identifiers are used.

Error and log data

If the app encounters an error, we may collect log data through the services above (IP address, device name, operating system version, app configuration, time and date). This is used only to diagnose and fix problems.

Optional in-app answers

If you answer optional in-app questions (for example, about how you use the app), the answers are stored without your name or contact details and are used only to improve the app.

Account, free trial and invitations (optional)

You can use the app without an account. If you choose to create one (to start the free trial or to invite friends), we store the name and email address you enter, or the identifier and email provided by Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In, together with a random install identifier, the dates of your free access, and the email addresses of friends you invite. Friends' addresses are used only to send the invitation and are deleted once the invitation is used or expires (30 days). Legal basis: performance of the agreement you enter when you request the trial (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).

We also keep a technical log of account actions (sign-up, sign-in, sign-out, invitations sent and redeemed, deletion) with the time, the account number, the install identifier and the platform — no names or addresses. It is used only to detect abuse of the free offers and is deleted after 13 months. If you delete your account while an invitation you sent is still unused, the invitation stays valid for your friend but is no longer linked to you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in preventing abuse (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).

Deleting your account: in the app, open Settings → Account → Delete Account, or see account deletion. Deletion removes your name, email, sessions and free-access records. To make sure the free trial can only be claimed once per person, we keep an anonymised record (one-way hashes of the email address, the sign-in identifier and the install identifier) that cannot be turned back into your data. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in preventing abuse of free offers (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, or erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw any consent at any time (without affecting processing before withdrawal). To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@craftars.com — we respond within one month.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular the Romanian National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP, dataprotection.ro) or the authority of your EU member state.

What we do not do

We do not sell your personal data. We do not send marketing emails. We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling with legal effects.

Security

We protect your data with commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures, including HTTPS across the website. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version, with its effective date, is always available on this page. Significant changes will be highlighted on the website.
